My Lucky Bamboo

Something is brewing creatively. I took some old lyrics again and meshed them with a more recent beat and bass line. I might add some keyboard using a technique my friend Kurt told me about. It's a simple idea, but I hadn't heard or thought about it before. Add your keyboard parts, but feed them through some guitar plug-ins. Thanks, Kurt. We'll see how the song develops. It could be a good one, or it could wind up on the cutting floor. Happy 4th!

I cancelled my DistroKid account. DistroKid is, according to DistroKid, "the easiest way for musicians to get music into Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal, and more." The service did get my songs played on Spotify and made them availabe for purchase. I earned a total of $5.20. I think my songs are good--and gluten and genre-specific free® of course--, but they are not necessarily commercial. I get that. So, my music is now only on my website and YouTube. I'm happy with that.

In the process of moving on in a beautiful way. I could only write the music to a crappy country western song, so I did not enter the contest. I did keep the lyrics. Out came a derivatve--think early Bob Dylan--folk song. Please don't disapprove of me. I'm going with it.
Living in a Plastic World

Writing this while listening to "Tom Sawyer" by Rush on Radio Paradise, a wonderful internet station. I'm working on a country tune that will be an entry for a contest. Deadline is tomorrow, Monday, at 11:59 pm. It's got to sound like a demo, an acoustic guitar and a vocal. I have been looking back at lyrics to use and have found "Living in a Plastic World." Looks like that's the one. I'll get back to you Tuesday morning, satisfied or in the process of moving on.
